Horseback Riding and Trail Rides At River Ridge you can ride a gentle, obedient and experienced trail horse on our level to easy-rolling pasture, follow our South River Trail, climb to First and Second Mesas, visit Frog Spring or take a half-day ride way up on Lumreau Mountain. The views from the top are spectacular and the deer and birds just don't seem to run away when you're on a horse! Mr. Tim Shew, owner and operator of Balch Park Pack Station, has over twenty years experience as a guide, packer and backcountry horseman. Tim and his string of 20 experienced horses can provide you and a friend or a group up to ten with the thrill of seeing the beautiful Sierra foothills from "up high". There's nothing quite like the feeling and view of the scenery you get when you're on horseback. Rates begin at $60 per person for a 2-hour ride. We provide everything. Just bring your smile. River Ridge Ranch Horseback Riding is in Tulare County, a short drive into the Sierra foothills from most of the Southern San Joaquin Valley from Bakersfield to Fresno including Exeter, Lindsay, Visalia, Dinuba, Hanford, Kingsburg, Lemore, Delano, Turlock, Tulare, and Selma. The ranch is just minutes from Springville and Porterville.
